About SHITE
A lot of useful organisations need relatively straightforward technical help but are badly served by expensive agencies, consultants, complicated platforms and endless subscriptions.
SHITE exists to help make useful things, solve actual problems and keep technology understandable.

Build what is actually needed
Not what a template includes, not what a platform wants to sell, not what sounds impressive.

Avoid unnecessary complexity
Every extra layer is a future problem. Start with less, and only add what earns its place.

Prefer understandable systems
If you can't tell how something works, you don't really control it.

Give people control over their own technology
Accounts, access and data belong to the people doing the work — not to a third party who can quietly lock them out.

Do useful work
Prefer things that genuinely help over things that just look busy.

Be honest about what something needs
Including when the answer is: not much.

Do not invent expensive problems in order to sell expensive solutions
If it doesn't need doing, say so.
SHITE is small, independent and deliberately informal. It is not trying to scale, and it is not trying to be everything to everyone. The aim is to do a modest amount of useful work, help worthwhile people, and keep the technology a little more understandable.
